April Ross started the 2007 AVP season with a career best 2nd place finish in Miami. However, she had an unexpected and unfortunate "early wake-up call" the morning of the finals when the fire alarm at her hotel went off at 4am in the morning. She was among a number of hotel guests that evacuated the hotel and found themselves outdoors in the parking garage. "Casey Jennings and Matt Olson both heard the fire alarms, but stayed in their rooms", April said. "I think I'm the only player who actually vacated the hotel."
